Meet The Team

Adrian Thorne

From as young as I can remember much of my time was spent on top of ponies and this continued into my working life.

For a number of years I was lucky enough to have a very successful livery and training establishment. During this time I focused on producing and training young horses. During this period I also had a number of event horses competing at various levels. This came to a natural end but I was desperate to stay working with my four legged friends.

At this point I was lucky enough to be introduced to Colin Hill and this is where my career as an Equine Dental Technician began. Colin invested many hours of time and money in me and I only have him to thank for where we are today.

I successfully passed the theory and practical elements of the BEVA/BVDA Dental exam and am a full member of the BAEDT. I am very passionate about our association and have been an active council member helping to raise awareness of qualified equine dentistry and to keep pushing towards legislation being obtained.

In 2017 Colin hung up his dentistry tools and is enjoying a slightly quieter life pursuing his hobbies and I took over the business. I am so grateful to be carrying on from somebody with such a great reputation and strive to follow in his footsteps in providing the highest level of dental care for clients. Big shoes to fill !!!!

At a very young age it was Mum I have to thank for introducing me to horses. I would have riding lessons on a weekly basis and throughout my school years attended Horse Rangers.

I always knew I wanted to base my career around horses but wasn't quite sure in what area. The penny finally dropped when I visited a friend whilst her dental technician was treating her horses.....from that day forward equine dentistry became my focus.

I graduated from Hartpury University with a BSc (hons) Equine Dental Science in 2011. I then started my practical training with Colin and Adrian and sat my practical BEVA Exam in March 2015. I was delighted to pass and also to become a member of the BAEDT.

Ive been around horses from a very young age. My mum bought me my first pony when I was 3 years old and they've been a big part of my life ever since. As soon as I left school I went to work on a show Jumping yard and after being there for a year, I got offered a job on a livery/competition yard where I worked for 10 years.

I learned a huge amount whilst working there and had the opportunity to ride and compete a variety of horses including Event Horses, Show Jumpers, Dressage Horses, Racehorses and Hunters. For the past 6 yrs I’ve run my own livery yard and carried on producing a number of horses myself.

Colin, Adrian & Sophie have been doing my horses teeth for as long as I can remember so when Adrian mentioned he was looking to take on an apprentice I jumped at the chance to take on a new challenge and learn something new while still being able to work with horses.
